IPS Midstream Services

IPS provides integrated midstream solutions for the efficient, safe, and reliable transportation and storage of oil and gas.
- Pipelines: We provide turnkey pipeline solutions, from initial design and engineering to construction, operation, and ongoing maintenance.
- Pipeline Design & Engineering: We handle all aspects of pipeline design, including route selection (considering environmental and social impact), hydraulic analysis (to determine optimal pipe diameter and pumping requirements), stress analysis (to ensure structural integrity), and material selection (API 5L for line pipe with specific grades like X42, X65, etc., and considering corrosion resistance). We adhere to ASME B31.4 for liquid transportation and ASME B31.8 for gas transmission and distribution piping systems.
- Pipeline Construction: We utilize various construction techniques, including conventional trenching, horizontal directional drilling (HDD) for crossing obstacles like rivers and roads, and micro-tunneling for minimal surface disruption. Our construction activities include welding (using qualified welders and procedures), coating (internal and external for corrosion protection), inspection (using NDT methods like radiography and ultrasonic testing), and hydrostatic testing to verify pipeline integrity.
- Pipeline Integrity Management: We implement comprehensive integrity management programs for ongoing pipeline safety and reliability. These programs include regular inspections using in-line inspection (ILI) tools (smart pigs) to detect corrosion, dents, and other defects, hydrostatic testing for pressure testing, maintenance (including cathodic protection systems to prevent corrosion and repairs using various techniques), and sophisticated leak detection systems.
- Pipeline Automation & Control: We implement SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems for remote monitoring and control of pipeline operations, including flow rates, pressures, temperatures, valve positions, and other critical parameters. This includes alarm systems for rapid response to abnormal conditions.
- Pumps: We supply a range of pumps specifically engineered for efficient and reliable pipeline transportation.
- Centrifugal pumps (designed to API 610 standards) for high-volume transfer of low-viscosity liquids, such as crude oil and refined products. These pumps utilize impellers to impart kinetic energy to the fluid.
- Positive displacement pumps (e.g., reciprocating, rotary) for high-pressure applications and handling viscous fluids like heavy crude oil. These pumps displace a fixed volume of fluid with each cycle.
- Leak Detection Systems: We offer advanced leak detection systems to protect the environment and ensure the ongoing integrity of your pipelines.
- We utilize a range of advanced technologies, including:
- Acoustic Monitoring: Detecting leaks by analyzing acoustic signals generated by escaping fluids, using strategically placed sensors along the pipeline or aerial surveys.
- Fiber Optic Sensors: Using fiber optic cables to detect subtle temperature changes, pressure variations, or acoustic signals indicative of leaks.
- Computational Pipeline Monitoring (CPM): Using sophisticated mathematical models and real-time data (flow rate, pressure, temperature) to detect anomalies and potential leaks.
- We utilize a range of advanced technologies, including:
- Pipeline and Storage Valves: We provide a comprehensive range of valves for precise control of flow and pressure within pipelines and storage facilities.
- We supply ball valves (for quick on/off control), gate valves (for on/off control, typically in fully open or fully closed positions), check valves (to prevent backflow), and control valves (to precisely regulate flow rate and pressure). We also offer a variety of actuators (manual, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric) to operate these valves efficiently and reliably.
- Storage Tanks and Terminals: We provide comprehensive solutions for the storage and handling of crude oil, natural gas, and refined products during transportation and prior to downstream processing.
We offer design, engineering, construction, and maintenance of storage tanks and terminals. Tank types include:
- fixed roof
- floating roof (both internal and external)
- bullet tanks (for pressurized storage of LPG and other gases).
We adhere to relevant API standards, including:
- API 650 (for welded steel tanks for oil storage)
- API 620 (for the design and construction of large, welded, low-pressure storage tanks)
- API 653 (for tank inspection, repair, alteration, and reconstruction).
